Why is my USB 3.0 device not recognized when using Virtualization Station?

Applicable Products
- Virtualization Station
- x86 processor QNAP NAS
Workaround
Operating systems of earlier versions do not natively support USB 3.0. It is recommended that you try the following to connect to USB a 3.0 device.
- Connect the USB 3.0 device directly to a dedicated USB 2.0 port on your QNAP device.
- In scenarios where the QNAP device has native USB 3.0 host ports, use a USB 2.0 hub as an intermediary to connect the USB 3.0 device to your device.
Note
- In the event of continued peripheral device non-recognition, potential causes include incompatibility with the host QNAP device and/or the virtualized operating system environment.
- The data transfer capabilities of USB 3.0 devices are limited (or downgraded or restricted) to USB 2.0 specifications when the connection is established via a USB 2.0 port or hub.
The following operating systems and versions lack inherent USB 3.0 functionality.
