QNAP Resolves the Secure Channel Fault in Windows July 2023 Updates
Taipei, Taiwan, July 24, 2023 - QNAP® Systems, Inc. has resolved the secure channel fault in Windows updates in July 2023.
Windows KB (2023/Jul/11) caused incompatibility issues with Samba Domain Controller and the trust relationship between Windows client and Domain Controller can be broken. For users using Domain Controller of QTS (4.5.4, 5.0.0, 5.0.1, 5.1.0) or QuTS hero (h4.5.4, h5.0.0, h5.0.1, h5.1.0), when they have applied the following Windows updates:
- Windows Server 2022: KB5028171
- Windows 11: KB5028185
- Windows 10: KB5028166
Windows may return the error message "The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed". This also impacts the specific RSAT management tools and fails to connect to Remote Desktop sessions.
