QNAP Releases QuTScloud c5.1.0 Beta to Cloud NAS, Featuring Delegated Administration, Upgraded File Station, and AES-128-GMAC for SMB Signing Acceleration
Taipei, Taiwan, August 29, 2023– QNAP® Systems, Inc. (QNAP) today released QuTScloud c5.1.0 Beta. The latest QNAP’s Cloud NAS operating system supports delegated administration for improved management productivity, upgrades File Station with optimized file management and searching, and supports AES-128-GMAC for SMB signing acceleration.
QuTScloud revolutionizes how business data is deployed and managed by using an app-aware cloud NAS experience on public clouds and on-prem hypervisors, providing a subscription-based service starting from only US $4.99 per month with greater implementation flexibility.
Key new features of QuTScloud c5.1.0:
- Delegated administration improves management productivity and data security
Cloud NAS administrators can delegate 8 types of roles to other users with specified permissions to management tasks and NAS data. For growing organizations, role delegation helps ease management workloads without sacrificing data access controls. - File Station improves file management and searching
The new File Station user interface allows users to quickly find files that have been recently uploaded, accessed, and deleted, while also finding files via rich search/sort functions powered by the full-text search engine Qsirch. - Supports AES-128-GMAC for SMB signing acceleration
QuTScloud c5.1.0 supports AES-128-GMAC signing acceleration (only in Windows Server 2022® and Windows 11® clients) that not only greatly increases data signing efficiency over SMB 3.1.1 but also enhances the CPU utilization of the NAS system - providing the best balance of security and performance.
QuTScloud provides users with a near-identical user experience and services as the QTS operating system on physical NAS devices. With the App Center, users can enjoy numerous free and premium apps for boosting QuTScloud functionality and adding more features. Key features of QuTScloud include:
- Easily access files using CIFS/SMB, NFS, AFP, and iSCSI protocols.
- Mount other cloud storage to your QuTScloud instance (via HBS, HybridMount or VJBOD Cloud) for centrally managing cloud-based data.
- Streamline backup and restoration processes with snapshots and versioning.
- Quickly find files with Qsirch – QNAP’s comprehensive search engine.
- Easily find, share, and automatically organize photos with QuMagie – the AI-powered photo management app.
