QNAP Systems, Inc. - Network Attached Storage (NAS)

Why with FTP a client users can create files & folders in their home folder via “/homes/username” even if on the shared folder “/homes” the user does not have any permissions granted?

Applied Models:

For the FTP service, the “/homes/username” is equivalent to the “/home” folder of the user. “/home” is the home folder of the user where the user has full permissions. Therefore, with FTP, the user will have read & write permissions on their home folder via “/homes/username” either “/home”. The user will not have access to any other home folders.
