Why do I see the error message "You must sign in to QNAP ID to connect to this NAS"?

QNAP mobile apps display this message when the myQNAPcloud Access Control permissions are set to Private or Customized.

To resolve this issue, you'll need to sign in to your QNAP ID before you can connect to the NAS. Your QNAP ID is the same account you use to access the QNAP Account Center.

  1. Open the app on your mobile device.
    The app opens and displays an error message.
  2. Click Yes.
    The Sign in to QNAP Account window opens.
  3. Enter your account credentials.
  4. Click Sign in.
    You are signed in to your account on the mobile device. To maintain account security, you must sign in again after two weeks of inactivity.

If you were able to successfully sign in to your account, but receive a This NAS is not on the QNAP ID list warning, you must contact the device owner to add your QNAP ID to the permitted list within myQNAPcloud.
