Why cannot I remotely access QVR Server via myQNAPcloud Link using QVR Pro Client?

Last modified date: 2026-03-05

Applicable Products

QVR Pro Client

Root Cause

QVR Pro Client versions 2.5.x and earlier do not support myQNAPcloud Link as a remote connection method to QVR Server.

Workaround

To remotely access QVR Server with QVR Pro Client 2.5.x or earlier, use one of the following methods:

VPN: Establish a VPN connection to the network where QVR Server is located, then connect QVR Pro Client to QVR Server using its local IP address.

Port forwarding: Configure port forwarding on the router to expose the QVR Server service port to the internet, then connect QVR Pro Client using the public IP address or DDNS hostname.

Recommendation

We recommend upgrading QVR Pro Client to version 2.6.0 or later. Starting from version 2.6.0, QVR Pro Client supports myQNAPcloud Link for remote access to QVR Server without VPN or port forwarding configuration.
