Why can I not use “Additional Domain controller” to add my Turbo NAS to Windows Server 2012’s Active Directory domain or forest?

Applied Models:

Answer:

The domain controller on QNAP NAS supports Windows Server 2008 R2 functional level and therefore is unable to support the domain and forest (forest) in Windows Server 2012's functional levels or higher functional levels of the deployment. When using Windows Server 2012’s Active Directory domain or forest, please choose Windows Server 2008 R2's functional level or the lowest functional level’s Active Directory domain or forest.
