What should I do with the iSCSI targets in QTS/QES when shutting down or restarting my QNAP NAS?

Before shutting down or restarting a QNAP NAS, first shut down any remote servers that are connected to the NAS via iSCSI.

If it is not possible to shut down a remote server then log onto the server, un-mount the file system on the iSCSI disk, and then disconnect the iSCSI initiator from the iSCSI target.

Any remaining iSCSI connections will be forcibly disconnected when the NAS is shut down or restarted.  Warning: A sudden interruption to an active iSCSI connection may result in data loss.
