Unable to install or update apps due to firmware version mismatch

All NAS Series

Applied Firmware:

4.4.1 or above

In some cases, for example if the drives have migrate from one NAS to another, app updates will fail with the following error:

[APP_NAME] Failed to install (app_version). (fw_version) does not support this version of APP_NAME.

This could happen if the firmware version on the disks and on the NAS are different. The latest app versions are not supported by the disks firmware version.

In the system logs, we may see the following notification:

The firmware versions of the system built-in flash (x.x.) and the hard drive (x.y.) are not consistent. It is recommended to update the firmware again for higher system stability

The solution is to re-update the firmware manually:
