Connect to your Cloud Storage smoothly with Cloud Drive Sync on QNAP NAS

Overview

Cloud Drive Sync lets you easily create a synchronized job between a QNAP NAS and Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, OneDrive for Business or hubiC with a wizard.

Install Cloud Drive Sync

1. Open the QTS App Center.

2. Search for “Cloud Drive Sync” and click “Add to QTS” to download and install it.

3. Alternatively, you can find this App in the “Backup / Sync” category. Once you find it, click “Add to QTS” to download and install it.

4. Click “Open” to open the Cloud Drive Sync App.

Create Cloud Account

1. If you do not have any cloud accounts, you can click “here” in “Job Status” on the “Dashboard” page.

2. Alternatively, you can click “Cloud Account Management” > “Create Account”.

3. Choose Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, OneDrive for Business or hubiC as the “Cloud storage” and enter a name for the account, then click “Sign in”.

4. Using Dropbox as an example, Cloud Drive Sync will open the Dropbox authentication page. Please enter your Dropbox username and password.

5. Click “OK” to finish.

Edit Cloud Account

You can edit the “Display name” and “Rate limit” for existing accounts with edit icon in the “Cloud Account Management” page.

Create Sync Job

1. Click “Sync Job Management” > “Create Job”.

2. Click “Next”.

QNAP

3. Select “Local location”, “Account name”, and “Remote location”, then click “Next”.

4. You can set “Start manually”, “Continuous”, “Periodically”, “Start once at”, and “After this job finishes” as a schedule.

5. Set the file conflict policy then click “Next”.

6. Set filters for file size, file date, hidden files/folders, and file types then click “Next”.

7. Set other options like “Timeout”, “Number of retries”, “Retry interval”, “Maximum skipped files”, and “Concurrent processing files”, then click “Next”.

8. Confirm these settings are correct before clicking “Next”.

9. Click “Finish”.

Sync Job Management

You can manage jobs using “Stop”, “Scan”, “Edit”, “View Logs”, and “Delete” in the “Sync Job Management” page.

View System Logs

Cloud Drive Sync provides information, warnings, and error logs to let you check the system status.

Dashboard

The dashboard provides job status and capacity details of the cloud account.

  • Job Status
    This will list the “Last finished job”, “Running job”, and “Next job to run” and display the ratio of different job types.
  • Account Capability
    This displays the used capacity of the cloud account.

Support Multiple Users

Cloud Drive Sync supports multiple users and only needs the administrator to provide permission.

1. After the administrator logs in to QTS, go to “App Center” > “My Apps”, find “Cloud Drive Sync”, and set the drop-down list to “Display on every user’s main menu”.

2. When a normal NAS user logs in to QTS, they will see the Cloud Drive Sync App in their main menu. Every user can create their own account and sync job and does not share their account settings with other users.
