Starting from version 2.3.1, the product previously known as HDP has been renamed to HDP for PC/VM.

Scenario

When I back up virtual machines (VMs) in HDP for PC/VM, only 2 out of 25 VMs can be backed up at the same time.

How can I make HDP for PC/VM back up more VMs simultaneously?

Background

When HDP for PC/VM is launched, it checks the average system load in the previous 15 minutes to determine the maximum number of VMs it can back up simultaneously. HDP for PC/VM determines the average system load based on CPU usage and disk I/O operations.

Recommendation

To back up more VMs simultaneously, we recommend reducing the number of running processes on the NAS for at least 15 minutes before launching HDP for PC/VM.
