Overview

DHCP relay is a network host or agent that forwards DHCP packets between servers and clients that are not on the same subnet or network. Its primary purpose is to extend the communication of a DHCP server to its clients that are in different physical subnets. It helps ensure that that all devices on the network have a valid IP address and can access network resources.

Procedure

  1. Connect your computer to the router using a network cable or wireless connection.
  2. Log in to QuRouter.
  3. Configure DHCP relay on any of the following interfaces that require it.
    InterfaceUI Path
    LAN
    Physical Interface Settings > LAN
    VLAN
    VLAN Settings > VLAN Settings
    Bridge
Bridge Settings > Add Network Bridge
  4. Navigate to the DHCP Settings section.
  5. Select DHCP Relay as the DHCP service.
