Overview
Object Service on QuTS Mega enables your NAS to provide S3-compatible object storage, allowing you to store and access data using the S3 protocol. HybridMount can be used to mount this object storage as a remote service, enabling flexible data access and management.
Procedure
1. Set up Object Service on QuTS Mega
- Log in to QuTS Mega as a cluster administrator.
- Go to Object Services and click Create to create a object service.
- Click on the sevice name you created.
- Click on Users tab to create a user. Note the Service Endpoint URL, Access Key, and Secret Key for later use.
- Click on Buckets tab to create a bucket.
- The creation of Object Services is now complete.
2. Mount QuTS Mega Object Service using HybridMount
- Open HybridMount on your QNAP NAS.
- Click Create Remote Service.
- Enter the following details:
- Cloud Service Provider: S3 Compatible
- Access Key/Secret Key: Enter the credentials you created earlier
- Server address: Enter the Object Service endpoint from QuTS Mega
- Bucket Name: Enter the name of the bucket you created
- Click Next and follow the prompts to complete the mounting process.
- Once mounted, the object storage will be accessible through File Station and other supported applications.
