QuTS hero

Details

Due to using a different file system, QuTS hero reserves more space on installed disks than QTS does in order to ensure optimal system and storage performance.

There are two main factors that affect the total amount of space QuTS hero reserves on a disk:

  • QuTS hero reserves 36 GB on each disk for storing configuration and system files (whereas QTS reserves 10 GB for the same purpose).
  • When a RAID group is created in QuTS hero, about 1/43 (2.3%) of the total RAID array size is reserved for metadata.
