How can I resolve a 1000005 error code in License Center?

Overview
When managing licenses in License Center, you may receive the following error message:
You will receive this message if License Center is unable to determine certain information related the hardware of your NAS, such as serial number or mac address. This error message will also appear if any of this information is invalid. To view hardware information of your NAS open Control Panel and go to System Status > System Information:
