Why do I receive an OpenGL error when opening QVR Pro Client?

QVR Pro Client (Windows)

Root Cause

OpenGL 2.1 (or later) is required to use QVR Pro Client. If the graphics processor in your device does not support OpenGL 2.1 then you will receive an error message that prevents you from opening QVR Pro Client.

To fix this issue, you should upgrade your graphics processor to one that supports OpenGL 2.1 (or later).

Workaround

If you cannot upgrade your graphics processor, then you can operate QVR Pro Client in software rendering mode. You can enable software rendering by performing the following steps.

  1. Right-click on the shortcut link to QVR Pro Client and click Properties.
  2. Append " -swrender" to Target and click OK.
  3. When you open QVR Pro Client it will use software rendering to display camera streams.
Note

Software rendering mode uses significant CPU resources and multi-channel view/playback may become unstable.

You will have a much better user experience and enjoy greater functionality by using QVR Pro Client with an OpenGL 2.1 (or higher) graphics processor.
