Procedure

You can follow the instructions below to configure a custom console port and password for Virtual Network Computing (VNC) access to your virtual machine. This enables you to connect to the VM's graphical desktop remotely using a VNC client.

  1. Log in to QTS or QuTS hero.
  2. Open Virtualization Station 3.
  3. Under VM List, click on your virtual machine.
  4. Go to Settings > Console Operation.
  5. Under Remote Console, select Custom.
  6. Enter your preferred port number.
  7. Optional: Set the VNC password.
    1. Select Set VNC password.
    2. Specify a VNC password.
    3. Re-enter the VNC password.
    4. Click Apply.
Note
  • Remote console port and VNC password configuration cannot be applied while the VM is running.
  • If you choose Auto for the VM console port, Virtualization Station automatically assigns a port between 5900 and 5930.
