Is Kernel-mode SMB daemon option available on all QNAP NAS models

Scenario

I use and configure Kernel-mode SMB daemon option in one of my NAS but I can't find this option in my another NAS. Why?

Solution

No. Currently, Kernel-mode SMB daemon option is only available on QNAP NAS models with x86 (Intel/AMD) processors.

It is not supported on ARM-based NAS models because this option requires kernel-level support and optimization that are better maintained on x86 platforms, where higher SMB throughput and lower context switching overhead provide clear performance benefits. On ARM NAS models, Samba remains the stable and fully supported SMB solution.
