How can I prevent media files from being viewed by all NAS users?

Solution

To limit visibility of media files, you can configure files to be uploaded to either a Qsync folder or the user's home directory. Because these folders are not shared with other users, uploaded content is only visible to the individual user.

Log on to the NAS as an admin.
Go to Control Panel > Applications > Multimedia Console
The Multimedia Console window opens.
Go to Content Management and select QuMagie.
In the Content Sources section, click Edit.
The Edit QuMagie Content Sources window opens.
Select the homes directory.
Click Apply.

Users can now upload media files to either their home directory or the Qsync folder.
