Scenario
When creating a share link in File Station, are there any kind of limitations for file sizes or folder sizes? Are there any type of files extensions that cannot be shared?
Details
There is no limitation for file size or folder size. You can share files or folders of any size.
As for file extensions, every file or folder you see in File Station can be shared.
Note
You can share a shared folder in QTS 5.0.1 or later versions.
Limitations
The only limitation is the maximum number of shared items. Due to space limitations, a NAS can only share a total of 100,000 items (1 item = 1 file or 1 folder) because the shared items depend on the share link DB which takes up storage space.
Tip
1 folder containing many files also counts as 1 item.
Recommendations
We suggest sharing a folderthat contains many files and subfolders instead of sharing many files when possible.
Tip
If you share 1 folder for each share link, you can create 100,000 share links on your NAS.
