Root Cause
To enhance security, QNAP changed the default setting so that Qremote is disabled by default in HD Station 4.2.22 and later. Users need to manually re-enable the feature.
Solution
Follow these steps to restore Qremote functionality:
Step 1: Enable Remote Desktop in QTS
- Log in to QTS as an administrator
- Go to Control Panel > Applications > HDMI™ Display Applications
- Click Settings
- Enable Remote Desktop
- Click Apply, then enter HD Station by clicking Click here to open

Step 2: Enable Qremote in HD Station
- Open Settings inside HD Station
- Go to the General tab
- Check Enable Qremote
- Save changes

Step 3: Reconnect Using Qremote
- Launch the Qremote app on your mobile device
- Reconnect to your NAS
- Remote control should now work normally
Recommendation
For security purposes, QNAP recommends using Qremote only on trusted local networks.
