Why can’t I access my Hybrid Mount FTP connection after the NAS restarts?

Scenario
After mounting an FTP server with HybridMount, users can access the files normally before a system restart. However, once the NAS restarts, the mounted FTP folder becomes inaccessible through SSH or applications such as Plex, even though HybridMount shows the connection status as “normal.” Access is only restored after manually browsing the FTP mount in File Station.
Solution
This behavior is by design. FTP and SFTP mounts in HybridMount are not kernel-level mounts like SMB and NFS. Instead, they are user-level connections that only become active when accessed via File Station. Therefore, after a NAS reboot, the FTP mount does not automatically re-establish a system-wide mount point.
1. After a NAS restart, open File Station and click on the mounted FTP folder. This action will trigger the FTP connection and make the files accessible again.
2. If you need services or applications to use the mounted resource automatically after reboot, consider using SMB or NFS remote mounts in HybridMount, as these protocols support kernel-level mounting.
