Why are my non-English files names incorrect after extracting them with File Station?

Root Cause

If you create zip files on a Windows device that uses a non-English language, the file names will not display correctly after extracting them with File Station.


Solution

You can resolve this issue by adjusting the system locale settings on your Windows device.

  1. On your Windows device, open the Control Panel.
  2. Click Change date, time, or number formats.
    The Region window appears.
  3. Go to the Administrative tab and click Change system locale...
  4. Enable Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support.
  5. Click OK and restart your computer.
