The VM cannot be started after switching the HDD or CD/DVD interface of the VM.

This is a limitation of the VM BIOS. You will need to select the boot devices of the VM in "Virtual Machine Settings" > "Boot Options". Change the setting from "Use default boot devices" to "Specify bootable devices", and then select your preferred "First Boot Device" and "Second Boot Device" from their respective drop-down lists.
