Scenario

My SSD has failed and need replacing. How do I replace the drive without affecting my data.

Solution

If the SSD is composed of RAID 1/5/6 and supports redundant Raid type, and you are using 2.5’ SSD, you can use the Replace Disks One by One function to replace the problematic SSD from the NAS Storage & Snapshots > Storage / Snapshots > select the Storage Pool and click Manage > select "manage" then "Replace Disks One by One".

2.5" SSD support Hot-swappable, so you can replace the SSD when NAS power on; M.2 SSD does not support Hot-swappable, so the NAS will need to be powered off before replaceing the M.2 SSD.
