Are there license issues with ZFS?

The QES OS is based on FreeBSD and does not use a Linux kernel. FreeBSD follows the BSD license and the Common Development and Distribution License (CDDL) on which ZFS is based. Both licenses are compatible and can be used together legally without creating any GPL or CDDL license conflicts.
