Why can't I play MOV or MP4 files in Photo Station, Video Station, and QuMagie?

Solution

The Cayin MediaSign Player app is required to play MOV and MP4 files. This app can be downloaded from the QNAP App Center, but requires a license to operate (a free license is available).

If you find that some files can't be played after installing Cayin MediaSign player, you should check if the codecs used by the file are supported.

  1. Open Video Station.
  2. Locate the media file which can't be played.
  3. Right-click the media file and select Information from the drop-down menu.
  4. In the information window, go to the Info tab.
  5. Check if the video or audio codecs are in the supported list.
