AFP (Apple Filing Protocol) allows file or folder names to end with a space or a period character, but Microsoft naming conventions do not. For more information, go to https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa365247(v=vs.85).aspx
QNAP provides a solution that helps you work around this issue:
- Go to “Control Panel” > “Privilege” > “Shared Folders”.
- Locate the file or folder on the shared folder list.
- Click “Edit Properties” in the “Action” column.
- Enable “Only allows applications to access files using the long file format”.
- Click “OK”.
