Supports more powerful event management, strengthened user access control, and more IP camera models
Taipei, Taiwan, March 10, 2010 - QNAP Security, a world class manufacturer of PC-less Network Video Recorder (NVR) solutions for the corporate security/surveillance market, today announced a new firmware v3.2.0 for the VioStor Series Network Video Recorders (NVR) to provide more powerful event management with a larger range of supported alarm event types and handling options, strengthened user management for secure access control, and compatibility with more IP camera brands including A-MTK, CNB, Digitus, and VIOSECURE. The new firmware also adds the support for the Czech language on the user interface.
'The new firmware v3.2.0 largely strengthens the event management of the VioStor NVR. More event types such as motion detection, network disconnection, recording failure, and even the events defined by the users are supported. The users are given more handling options in response to the alarms/ events. For example, the PTZ camera can be adjusted automatically to the preset position for targeted monitoring and recording of the suspected objects/ persons, alarm output and buzzer can be triggered, and email and SMS alert can be sent instantly to the system administrator or security guard. The users can even access and control the external network surveillance devices from the NVR using the AJAX-based user interface of advanced event management. All these new features have strongly enhanced the security, management efficiency, and compatibility of the VioStor NVR systems,' said Andrew Yu, Product Manager from QNAP Security.
To improve the security of the VioStor NVR, the user access control feature is strengthened. The users can be assigned to different user groups (administrator/ system manager/ user) and given different rights of monitoring, playback, and system administration. Also, more IP camera brands are now supported. These brands include A-MTK, CNB, Digitus, and VIOSECURE. In addition to ACTi, Arecont Vision, D-Link, Etrovision, GANZ, IQeye, LevelOne, Messoa, SANYO, SONY, VIVOTEK, and so on, the VioStor NVR is compatible with over 600 models from 32 IP cameras brands.
