How to know if my NAS is behind a NAT?

If the NAS is behind a NAT, you will not be able to open and forward the port, making it not possible to access the NAS Remotely.
There are many ways to identify it, we will show one way that can help us identify it. In case that the NAS is behind a NAT made from the ISP, you will need to contact your ISP for further solution.
Normally if your local Network is behind a NAT your router WAN IP will be different from the external IP address you are accessing on the internet.
So in this case we will try to identify the Router WAN IP and the real External IP address. To Know the Router WAN IP you can access the router management page and find the WAN setting.

Then we will need to check the External IP address, We can check it in the DDNS setting in “Network & virtual switch”
As shown in the screenshots both IPs are different, so Probably the NAS is Behind a NAT which is blocking the external access. So in this case you will need to contact your ISP to check if there is any solution that allow you to open and forward the external port to a device in a local network.
