Why can't I set the space alert threshold for my storage volume?

Solution
The space alert threshold is only available for volumes created in newer versions of QTS. If your volume was created in QTS 4.0 or earlier, you'll be unable to use this feature. QNAP recommends updating QTS to the latest version and migrating your data to a new volume. Updating will allow your volume to create space alerts, snapshots, and other storage features.
If you want to keep your legacy volume, you can still enable a basic space alert that triggers when the total free space on the NAS falls below the specified threshold.
- Sign in to QTS.
- Open the Control Panel.
- Go to System > Hardware > General.
- Select Enable the light signal alert when the free storage size is less than the value.
- Specify a warning threshold.
- Click Apply.
