Some cloud services have their own online file formats. For example, Google Drive has unique file formats for Google documents, sheets, and slides. You can view the full list of special file types used by HybridMount-supported cloud services below.

Cloud Service Provider
File Extensions
Box.boxnote
Google Drive.gdoc, .gsheet, .gdraw, .gform, .gslides, .glink
OneDriveonenote.url

A number of these cloud services allow you to create these types of files only through their own web clients. This means you will not be able to create, modify, copy, paste, or upload a .gdoc file, or any other special online file, using a HybridMount connection. If you try to copy and paste online files to a HybridMount volume in File Station, HybridMount will prevent you from performing the action, and you will receive a warning message.

If you try to create online files through SMB or other network protocols, you may also receive a warning or experience system-related issues. SMB in Windows 8, for example, will not notify you of the issue but will continue trying to process your request. This may make it unresponsive. In contrast, SMB in Windows 10 will inform you that the process is not supported.

When you create an online file, we highly recommend using only protocols and interfaces supported by the cloud service provider.
