Which hard drive models are supported by QNAP products? Prior to using your QNAP Turbo NAS, please remember your ABC's:
  • Always choose hard drives listed here! To guarantee that your hard drive will be compatible select a hard drive from the list below. Different hard drives have been reported by users to be compatible with their QNAP Turbo NAS, it is listed on our Unofficial 2.5" HDD/SSD Compatibility List.
  • Beware of hard drives unsuitable for your needs! The desktop class hard drive is designed to have the performance for everyday use. The enterprise class hard drive, is designed for the 24/7 mission critical business operations and exceptional performance appropriate for RAID.
  • Consistently back up your data! All hard drives still bear the risk of unpredictably failing even when there are no signs indicating a possible mishap.

As suggested by certain HDD providers, the hard drives of the same brand and series are collectively recognized as compatible with QNAP products if the largest-capacity drive has passed the compatibility test.

Note2
Must upgrade to NAS v3.2.5 firmware or later versions, backup the data to another location, and then follow the guide to re-initialize the HDDs to adopt the WD Advanced Format Technology.

Note3
Please update to the latest release firmware if your SSD is not compatibile.

As suggested by certain hard disk drive providers, the hard disk drives of the same brand and series are collectively recognized as compatible with QNAP products if one of the drives in the same series has passed the compatibility test.

Note5
A higher than normal temperature might be falsely reported by SMART info for this drive. However, the drive functionalities will not be affected by this false report.
